About me

To Our Valued Patients,

I am so excited to announce that I will be taking over John McAllister’s dental practice, and I can’t wait to meet you. My name is Dr. Robert Steljes—please call me Dr. Rob. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue caring for the patients of McAllister Family Dentistry.

 
I was born in Wilmington, NC, and raised in Statesville. After graduating from West Iredell High School, I moved to Hickory, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lenoir Rhyne University. I then continued my education at A.T. Still University, where I received my Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD).
 
Over the past couple of years, I have worked in the Troutman area, but I have always wanted to return to Hickory. I’m excited to return to Hickory, NC, providing high-quality dental care with experience, compassion, and advanced treatment options for the community. When I am not in the dental office, you can find me spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors.
 

Over the next few months, McAllister Dentistry will transition to Lake Hickory Dental, with a focus on a smooth and seamless patient experience. We remain in the same Hickory, NC location, and you’ll continue to see the trusted team you know and love.

We proudly accept Delta Dental Premier, Cigna DPPO, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Our office also features advanced dental technology, including same-day crowns, 3D printing, and 3D X-rays, to provide precise, efficient, and high-quality dental care.
